What is a specialist tutor?

A Specialist Level 7 Dyslexia Tutor is a highly qualified professional trained at Master’s level to support children, young people, and adults with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties. Level 7 is the highest specialist teaching qualification available in the UK for dyslexia intervention.

What I offer

With 29 years of qualified teaching experience across the full age range, I also offer specialist support in numeracy development. Many learners with dyslexia experience difficulties with number concepts, sequencing, working memory, and mathematical language. My numeracy tuition focuses on:

  • Strengthening core number skills

  • Building confidence with calculations and problem‑solving

  • Developing mathematical vocabulary and reasoning

  • Supporting memory and sequencing strategies

  • Creating structured, step‑by‑step approaches to learning maths

Numeracy sessions are calm, supportive, and designed to rebuild confidence while developing secure, transferable skills.
