Dyslexia Assessments and Screeners for Children
Assessments

A dyslexia assessment is an in-depth look at your child's literacy needs. A diagnosis can help your child to understand themselves and become more successful.

Training
I am an experienced teacher and specialist dyslexia teacher. I can offer staff training and parent workshops to support schools to help their dyslexic learners get the most out of their time in the classroom.
Screening can be offered to establish if your child is at risk of dyslexia and therefore establish if a full assessment is needed.

Dyslexia Assessment
What to expect from the assessment process.
Before the Assessment
Consider having a screener before the assessment.
Use the contact form to arrange an assessment and pay the deposit.
Complete the agreement and questionnaire.
Ask your child's school to complete the questionnaire and if they could host the assessment (it is ok if not).
Book an assessment date.
Pay the balance.
During the assessment
Arrive to the assessment on time.
Be as calm as possible, this isn't a test you can pass or fail.
Parents/carers can not be in the assessment, however, unless the assessment is taking place at school, parents should be available and nearby throughout the assessment.
As part of the assessment your child will read, write, solve puzzles and play word games.
After the Assessment
You will receive a full report within 21 days by email. The report will include test results, recommendations for support, further guidance. The report will meet the standards of SASC (the governing body) and under current guidance will be admissible for DSA. The report will not be issued unless full payment has been received.
If there are minor changes you would like to make to the background information, please contact me within 14 days of receiving the report.
If you wish, a 30 minute zoom call can be arranged to discuss the report (within 30 days of issue).
Your questionnaires will be kept on file for 12 months and stored securely.
The report will be kept until your child turns 25 inline with GDPR.
